BREAKING: FG Announces September 5, 2025, as Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The announcement was made on Wednesday through the Ministry of Interior. According to the statement, the holiday is to allow Muslims across the country to commemorate the day with prayers, reflection, and community activities.

The Federal Government also urged citizens to use the occasion to promote peace, unity, and love among Nigerians regardless of faith or background.

Eid-ul-Mawlid is celebrated annually by Muslims around the world and is recognized as a time to honor the Prophet Muhammad’s life, teachings, and values of compassion and justice.
