Nigeria’s Former FCT Minister is Dead
Naijaonpoint Media reports that the Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and ex-Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Solomon Ewuga, has died.
The chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
A family member in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon confirmed the development late Tuesday, noting that burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
Ewuga, a respected elder statesman, served Nigeria in several capacities. He was Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, later appointed FCT Minister of State, and subsequently represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 7th National Assembly.
He also endured a traumatic experience when he was kidnapped in 2021. Despite such challenges, Ewuga was widely regarded as a committed politician who made significant contributions to national development under successive administrations from 1999 to date.
Tinubu Approves Automatic Employment for Late Adayilo’s Children
Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Dr Grace Adayilo, former Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, who died recently.
The announcement was made by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during her funeral service on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
Describing Adayilo as a “devoted and humble administrator,” Wike said she played a critical role in ensuring prompt payment of salaries and benefits for civil servants.
“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr President, I extend our deepest condolences to her family. The President has instructed that her four children be offered automatic employment, understanding that the family has lost its breadwinner,” Wike said.
He praised Adayilo’s service, calling her “humble, hardworking, and selfless,” and urged Nigerians to emulate her dedication and commitment to humanity.
The funeral was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends who described her as a respected mobiliser whose impact extended beyond the civil service.
