Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill totaling ₦705.794 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The budget presentation was done on Wednesday at the Osun State House of Assembly complex, Osogbo.
Governor Adeleke described the 2026 fiscal proposal, christened the Budget of Economic Transformation, as a visionary roadmap for sustainable growth and improved living standards for citizens.
He said the budget was designed to build a diversified economy capable of withstanding emerging shocks while focusing on infrastructure, human capital development, and equitable resource distribution.
The governor disclosed that the total projected revenue for the 2026 fiscal year stands at ₦689.6 billion, comprising ₦221.68 billion from FAAC, ₦199.57 billion from internally generated revenue, and ₦268.34 billion from other receipts.
Adeleke noted that the total expenditure includes ₦317.41 billion for recurrent expenditure, representing 45 percent of the total budget, and ₦388.37 billion for capital expenditure, representing 55 percent.
He highlighted his administration’s achievements under the 2025 budget, including the construction of over 300 kilometers of roads across the state, completion of flyover projects, and ongoing efforts to ensure no project is abandoned.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, as well as continued investment in youth empowerment through the Imole Youth Corps Scheme, which has engaged 10,000 young people across key sectors.
Adeleke also commended philanthropist Mrs. Folorunso Alakija for donating a medical research and training hospital to Osun State, adding that the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital has seen improvements in infrastructure, innovation, and staff welfare.
He expressed appreciation to members of the 8th Assembly for their cooperation and support, urging continued partnership in building a prosperous and inclusive Osun State.
