Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially confirmed the new record for cooking the largest pot of jollof rice by Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci.
Naijaonpoint reports that the feat held in Lagos, Nigeria, produced thousands of kilograms of rice.
In a post on its official 𝕏 handle on Monday, GWR announced: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice, 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
Recalls that Hilda Baci first gained global attention in May 2023, when she broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, cooking non-stop for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
In other news, Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo, better known as Omoborty, has weighed in on the ongoing trends of comparing celebrity weddings.
The thespian, in a post via Instagram on Friday, stated that the size or glamour of a wedding does not determine the success of a marriage.
Omoborty also stated that the party does not reflect riches, as everyone has the right to celebrate in their own style.
According to the film star, it is childish to compare and argue about weddings, adding that some couples even go into debt to fund their dream wedding, reminding people that marriage should be about the couple’s happiness, not outsiders’ ratings.
