The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, on Tuesday stated it will be difficult for any governor in Nigeria to oppose President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Naijaonpoint reports that Sani stated this at the opening of a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement organised by the Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation at Arewa House, Kaduna.

The high-level meeting, convened by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, is themed “Assessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-Citizens Engagement for National Unity.”

Participants from across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, including former governors, ex-ministers, traditional rulers, technocrats, civil society actors, and religious leaders, are in attendance.

Sani, in his statement, said, “Moreover, no president in Nigeria’s history has supported governors and sub-national governments the way President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently doing.

“As a result, it is unlikely that any governor in Nigeria would go against the president.”

Sani said the federal government is also taking steps to engage non-state actors in the north.

He added, “For the first time in Nigeria’s history, the government is engaging with non-state actors to discuss progress and assess the situation in northern Nigeria.

“This unprecedented approach reflects a shift in how national issues are being addressed.”
