Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) begin a protest in Lagos on Wednesday against worsening insecurity in the state, despite holding a late-night meeting with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock on Tuesday.
The protest, which drew large crowds, saw workers and union leaders demanding urgent government action to address rising crime and insecurity that have continued to affect residents and businesses across Lagos.
Speaking during the march, an NLC official lamented that previous promises and meetings had not yielded tangible results, emphasising that the safety of citizens and workers must be prioritised.
The demonstration follows weeks of violent incidents in various parts of Nigeria. The NLC has vowed to continue their advocacy until concrete measures are taken to curb insecurity.
