Nigerian Pastor, Obonyilo Peter Enenche, popularly known as Enenche Enenche, in Abuja, has been apprehended by the Nigerian police.
According to Sahara Reporters, the clergyman was last seen at Senator Abba Moro’s birthday celebration on Thursday.
Enenche Enenche is currently facing trial over allegations of cyberbullying and cyberstalking Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja.
Enenche Enenche is reportedly a kinsman of the church’s senior pastor, Paul Enenche.
Speaking to the aforementioned publication the source said, “Enenche Enenche has reportedly been arrested by the police in Abuja. He was last seen at Abba Moro’s birthday party.”
The publication had earlier reported that Chief Magistrate Emmanuel A. Iyanna of the Wuse Zone 6 Magistrate Court in the Federal Capital Territory ordered Enenche’s surety to show cause why the bail bond should not be forfeited or why he should not be remanded in prison for the defendant’s failure to appear in court.
The order was issued on Thursday, June 26, 2025, during the resumed hearing of the criminal defamation suit filed by Paul Enenche against Enenche Enenche and a former Dunamis pastor, Abraham Daniel.
The application was brought before the court by the prosecution counsel, Chima Chukwu.
The Inspector General of Police is prosecuting the case before the Wuse Zone 6 Magistrate Court based on allegations of criminal defamation levelled against the duo.
In his submission, defence counsel Dr. S. M. Oyeghe objected to the application, arguing that the court’s procedure offends due process of law.
Oyeghe contended that the bail of the first defendant had already been revoked and a warrant for his arrest had been issued; the prosecution’s duty was to account for his whereabouts, not that of the surety.
Despite the objection, Magistrate Iyanna ordered the surety to show the cause of why the bail bond should not be forfeited.
Thereafter, he adjourned the matter to July 29, 2025, for hearing, at which the complainants, Pastor Paul Enenche and Paul Adama, would be able to testify.
