The president’s request was formally presented during Thursday’s plenary session by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. Rivers State is currently under the administration of a sole administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, appointed after the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara by President Bola Tinubu in March.
