Brian McKnight Jr. has taken to social media to respond to his father, R&B star Brian McKnight’s video celebrating a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit win.
“I’ve tried, man. I’ve tried really, really hard. To not touch on s–t. To let it go, to be the bigger person, to be mature,” McKnight Jr. says in the clip below.
“But the s–t going on with my dad right now, man. If y’all aren’t seeing what’s happening. If y’all aren’t seeing the fact that this is just a very hurt, and a very emotionally unavailable and not intelligent person that has still not been able to handle the death of his own mother … to decide to make certain posts on my late brother’s birthday?” he continued.

“Say what you want, dog. But the gloves are off for me,” he concluded.
Last week, McKnight claimed on social media that he sued his ex-wife Julie McKnight for defamation and that the judge ruled in his favor, awarding him $8.8 million.
In May 2025, McKnight’s son, Niko McKnight, passed away after a year long battle with cancer. “The One Last Cry” singer had reportedly been estranged for years from Niko, Brian McKnight Jr., and his children, Briana McKnight and Clyde McKnight.
