Former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has praised the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a person who firmly believed in the rule of law.

Osinbajo, who spoke on Thursday during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, praised Buhari’s honesty, transparency and integrity.

The lawyer recalled that Buhari had contested and lost the presidency three times, going to court to challenge the results each time, before finally emerging victorious at the polls on his fourth attempt.

Naijaonpoint reports Osinbajo made the submission during a short session to honour Buhari at the APC NEC meeting.

“In his many years in public service, he-Buhari- proved that you can serve with honesty, transparency & integrity,” he said about his former principal.

He added that Buhari “Showed a commitment to the rule of law. He ran for office thrice & and lost and pursued his rights in the courts, losing all three times. It was only at the 4th time that he won. He demonstrated belief in the Constitution and the rule of law.”

It will be recalled that Osinbajo, one of the founding fathers of the APC, served as Vice President of Nigeria for eight years during the tenure of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
