WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Grammy award-winning music star Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has shared photos from his star-studded Gala after-party. Kemi Filani reported on Monday, May 6th, that the biggest fashion event, the Met Gala, returned in full force at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York. This year’s Met Gala honoured black men, as the theme was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. Burna Boy made his second debut at the event wearing a red tuxedo with an oxblood eelskin cape. The singer was styled by Ozwald Boateng, the first Black designer with a prestigious Savile Row storefront. Amidst, the trolling he got over his outfit, Burna Boy, via his Instagram page, revealed that he hosted his first Met Gala after-party, which was, as expected, star-studded. American stars Hailey Bailey, Priyanka Chopra and husband Joe Jonas, Central Cee, Keke Palmer, Pink Pantheress, Adam Lambert, and Busta Rhymes were in attendance. Also present were Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Young Prince and Poco Lee. Gushing over his star-studded after party, he described it as a big family setting. Last year, Burna Boy had made the list of the World’s Sexiest Men of the Moment. The singer was ranked alongside other top personalities from the world by Essence Magazine. The publication noted how his voice and presence command the stage and he has an impeccable style, always groomed and iced out. That same year, Time magazine named the singer one of the Top 100 Most Influential People of 2024. The Grammy award-winning singer has no doubt made Africans proud across the globe with his eccentric performances and unique voices. The music star was the only African artist to appear in the Grammy official cover for 2024, in the midst of the American and British personalities.
