Businessman Offers Apprentice ₦1m After 7 Years, Claims He Stole ₦18m

A Nigerian businessman has come under fire after allegedly offering his apprentice only ₦1 million as settlement after seven years of service—while also accusing him of stealing ₦18 million.

This development was revealed in a series of posts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

According to ...s, the young man had served under the traditional Igbo apprenticeship system known as Nwa Boi for seven years.

At the end of the service, the boss reportedly offered to pay him ₦1 million, a gesture that sparked outrage among residents who witnessed the incident.

One aggrieved witness in the video was heard saying:

“This man is a liar, very wicked somebody.”

In response to the backlash, the boss accused the apprentice of stealing ₦18 million from him during his years of service.
