Engr. Busuyi Ayowole has suspended his participation in all African Action Congress activities in Osun State ahead of the 2026 governorship election, citing unresolved internal crises within the party.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ilesanmi Iyanu Samuel, Senior Press Officer, to Engr. Busuyi Ayowole on Saturday.

Engr. Busuyi Ayowole explained that the move followed the failure of the AAC National Secretariat to resolve critical administrative and constitutional issues affecting the party’s operations in Osun State.

He pointed to the persistent leadership crisis in the state chapter, where multiple individuals are laying claim to the position of State Chairman due to disputed and parallel congresses.

Engr. Busuyi  also raised concerns over conflicting dates for the Osun governorship primaries, noting discrepancies between the date officially acknowledged by INEC and another circulating date yet to be clarified by the party.

He further highlighted the absence of officially released guidelines for the governorship primaries, stressing that aspirants and stakeholders remain without clear procedural direction.

The AAC Chieftain added that uncertainty surrounding the conduct and outcome of a purported National Convention has further weakened confidence in the party’s internal processes.

He noted that his suspension from all AAC Osun engagements related to the 2026 election is a principled step taken to uphold order, legality, and internal democracy, pending clarification and compliance by the party’s national leadership.
