SUPER Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiamaka Nnadozie have both been included in the final shortlists for key CAF Awards women’s categories.
The top three nominees for some categories of the 2025 CAF Awards were announced today by the Confederation of African Football.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ajibade is one of the final three nominees for the Women’s Player of the Year award, while Brighton star Nnadozie is up for the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year prize.
Ajibade, who was voted the Player of the Tournament at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where the Super Falcons won a record-extending 10th title, is nominated along with two Moroccans.
Ghizlane Chebbak of Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Sanaa Mssoudi of AS FAR, both in the Morocco team that lost to the Super Falcons in the WAFCON final in July, are Ajibade’s rivals for the main women’s award.
Nnadozie, who has won the award the last two years and is gunning for a ‘three-peat’, is up against Morocco and AS FAR’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Andile Dlamini.
The Super Falcons were announced on Friday as one of three teams for the Women’s National Team of the Year gong, along with Ghana and Morocco.
Also, Flamingos captain Shakirat Moshood is in the top three for Women’s Young Player of the Year, vying with Senegal’s Adji Ndiaye and Morocco’s Doha El Madani.
