Turkey and Inter Milan midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, but Okan Buruk’s side are keen on buying Super Eagles star, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 31-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 47 games for Simeone Inzaghi’s side, helping them to a place in the UEFA Champions League final, and is now keen on returning to Turkey to finish his career.

However, Galatasaray do not prioritize a move for Calhanoglu, especially after securing the services of Leroy Sane, although their stance might change after the FIFA Club World Cup.

As per Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Victor Osimhen remains the Turkish club’s top target for the summer, although they face stiff competition from several top clubs in Europe and Al-Hilal in the Middle East.

The Super Eagles star spent last season on loan at Rams Park, helping Galatasaray beat Fenerbahce to the Super Lig title. The Napoli loanee left a telling impression on the Cimbom Aslan fans, netting a staggering 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 across all competition.

Osimhen has now returned to Napoli as talks about his future continue to swell, although he’s rejected two mouthwatering offers from Saudi Pro League winners, Al-Hilal.

Okan Buruk’s side are ready to offer Osimhen a blockbuster contact to lure him back to Istanbul, but cannot afford his outrageous €75m release clause.

On the flip side, Galatasaray are keeping close tabs on Hakan Calhanoglu. They are considering placing a €15m bid for the Inter Milan playmaker, plus a €10m contract proposal, but the Nerazzuri won’t let their midfield maestro leave  the San Siro for less than €25m.

As a result, Galatasaray have prioritized their chase for Osimhen, placing their eggs in one basket in the hopes that it yields results.

Osimhen’s decision to decline Saudi’s offer reflects his hunger to play amongst the elites in Europe, which Galatasaray might not be a part of as they’re not strong enough to compete in the UEFA Champions League.
