Cam’ron has filed a lawsuit against J. Cole, alleging breach of agreement and unpaid compensation over Cole’s 2024 track “Ready ’24.”
The song, featured on Cole’s project Might Delete Later, includes a guest verse from Cam’ron. According to court documents, Cam’ron claims he contributed his verse under an arrangement that Cole would later collaborate on one of Cam’ron’s own songs or appear on his podcast.
Cam’ron says the track was recorded in 2022, but despite multiple attempts to coordinate a podcast appearance or studio session, Cole has not followed through. The Harlem rapper also contends that he has not received proper payment for his work on the track, which he believes has generated more than $500,000 in revenue.
The lawsuit seeks a judicial declaration naming Cam’ron as a co-author of “Ready ’24” and an accounting of the song’s earnings. Cam’ron argues that his creative contribution entitles him to a share of the profits and formal recognition as a songwriter.
Neither J. Cole nor his label, Dreamville Records, has publicly responded to the claims.
