Ahead of her being found not liable in an assault case filed against her by a security guard, Cardi B immediately made headlines again after she hurled a pen at a man who asked what she called a “disrespectful” question about her relationship.
Cardi was on a lunch break from her civil assault trial and was signing albums for fans when someone, believed to be a photographer, shouted:
“Cardi, insiders are claiming Offset is publicly bragging about getting you pregnant for the fourth time. Do you foresee any paternity issues with Steffon Diggs?”
“Stop disrespecting me,” Cardi shot back, tossing a pen handed to her for autographs. “Don’t disrespect me.”

The man responded, “I still love you even though you just threw some stuff at me.”
“I don’t care. You’re disrespectful. Don’t do that,” Cardi replied. “Why do you feel, as a man, you get to ask me those type of questions? Act like you have some manners. Your momma taught you, respect women.”
Inside, attorneys made closing arguments in the lawsuit filed by former security guard Emani Ellis, who accused Cardi of hitting her, scratching her face, and spitting on her at a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018. Ellis claims the rapper’s nails left scars that required plastic surgery. Cardi won the case and told reporters that she will never settle a frivolous case filed against her.
