Odds are we’re getting more games in The Witcher universe. It’s a wildly successful property, beloved by many via its various cross-media projects, including video games. Thankfully, it looks like we’re getting another one, beyond The Witcher 4.

Thanks to a job listing directly from the Gamejobs.co website, we now know that Polish developer and steward of the franchise CD Projekt Red is hiring for a “brand-new adventure set in The Witcher universe.” We knew it had to be coming at some point, but it’s nice to see solid confirmation that it is in the works.

For A “Brand New Adventure”

Thanks to the job listing, we know that CD Projekt Red, developer of the acclaimed The Witcher video game series, is working on another project beyond The Witcher 4. The news comes from a lead writer job posting, which is seeking a “visionary” writer to work on “captivating narratives, compelling dialogues, and innovative quests.”

This is a “leadership role” for “a brand-new adventure set in The Witcher universe.” You really don’t get more obvious than that. Since The Witcher lore is so massive and sprawling, it makes sense to just openly curate ...ing and draw in fans of the game, since this concept is pretty wide-ranging and will no doubt cause a lot of speculation.

Really, the world is CD Projekt Red’s oyster. It could deal with any number of Witchers in the history of the lore, as well as projects set in the far future in a different region. The publisher’s loremasters can cook up pretty much anything they want.

The Future Of The Witcher Series Is Secure

There Will Be More

As far as the series goes right now, The Witcher 4 is still on track for a future release. Although we don’t have a specific release date, we know it’s in the works and, from recent footage, is progressing quite well. Beyond that, Netflix is keen to keep forging ahead with The Witcher TV show as well as various animated spinoffs, including Sirens Of The Deep, which came out this year.

We could also see a return to the Gwent universe at some point, and CD Projekt Red is no stranger to making smaller, more budget-sized adventures. Suffice it to say, The Witcher isn’t going anywhere. While this upcoming adventure might focus on another character, the vibes and world will likely remain the same, which is just how I’d want it.
