The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that it received an overwhelming 1,914,349 applications from interested Nigerians following the launch of its official recruitment portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — on Monday, July 14, 2025.
According to the Board, the recruitment portal officially closed on August 11, 2025, after reaching a record number of submissions, reflecting massive public interest in joining Nigeria’s key uniformed and paramilitary services.
With the application phase concluded, attention has now shifted to the shortlisting stage, where the CDCFIB will begin reviewing all submitted applications to identify qualified candidates who meet the Board’s selection criteria.
The shortlisting process, officials explained, involves screening applicants’ details, verifying qualifications, and evaluating compliance with the recruitment requirements for each position. Only candidates who pass this stage will be invited for the next phase of the recruitment exercise, which includes aptitude tests and physical screening.
Applicants are advised to remain patient and regularly check the official recruitment portal for updates. The Board also warned candidates to beware of fraudulent messages or individuals claiming to influence the selection process, emphasizing that recruitment remains free and strictly merit-based.
