Justine Madugu was beaten to the Johan Cruyff Award for the best coach in the world…

Nigerian artiste Burna Boy has congratulated England coach Sarina Wiegman for winning the Johan Cruyff Trophy for the best coach at the Ballon d’Or Awards on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Wiegman saw off competition from Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu, Arsenal Women’s Champions League-winning coach Renee Slegers, Arthur Elias, and Sonia Bompastor, to win the award for the best coach in the world.

Interestingly, when Wiegman was giving her acceptance speech, she mentioned that she would like to celebrate her win with top Nigerian artiste Burna Boy.

“If Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a bit of dancing,” the English tactician said.

For context, Burna Boy performed for the England players during the trophy tour for their 2025 Euros win, and Wiegman seemed to have really enjoyed his performance.

Well, the England coach has now gotten a response from Burna Boy, as he wrote on his X page, “haha, I’m up for it Sarina! A huge congrats to you and the team”.

Burna Boy is arguably the biggest Nigerian artiste, and Wiegman’s subtle request at the Ballon d’Or is a good proof of that.
