Victor Osimhen missed Galatasaray’s last game at Eyupspor, and their next game is a Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt…
Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk has expressed optimism that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be fit enough to play when they take on Eintracht Frankfurt in in opening game of the UEFA Champions on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has been nursing a minor ankle injury since Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup Qualifiers game against Rwanda last Saturday.
That issue made him miss the Super Eagles’ following game against South Africa, as he had to return to Galatasaray to undergo further checks.
Last Saturday, when the Turkish champions played Eyupsor, he was also conspicuously missing, and that caused some doubt over his availability for their UEFA Champions League opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
However, after Galatasaray’s game against Eyupspor, coach Buruk shed some light into Osimhen’s injury status. He revealed that there is a good chance that the former Napoli man will play midweek.

“Osimhen’s condition will be clear in a few days. We think he will play. He has pain, we will see if he can play with it,” Buruk said, per SuperHaber.
From Buruk’s statements, Osimhen is very close to returning. And even if he doesn’t start, he will likely make the bench.
Why Eintracht Frankfurt Should Be Scared Of Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen has a very good record against Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old Super Eagles striker has scored three goals against the German club in three appearances.
His first game against them was in the 2017/18 season, when he was at Wolfsburg. He was an 85th-minute substitute, but he failed to score.

The second time he played against Eintracht Frankfurt was at Napoli in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League season, and he scored three goals. One of the goals was away at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Then, in the return leg at the Stadio Diego Maradona, he scored a brace against the German club.
Given his good record against them, Eintracht Frankfurt should be scared. If he is fully fit, he will definitely be a big threat.
