Charlamagne Tha God is offering clarity on where things stand between him and Joe Budden after their latest public back-and-forth.
In a recent interview with Angie Martinez, the radio personality said there is no lingering animosity, even if communication has cooled. “I haven’t talked to him in a while. I don’t have any problems with Joe,” Charlamagne said. “I actually got a lot of love for Joe.”
“Me and Joe, when we are mad at each other, we go bad at each other,” he explained. “When I hear why he’s upset with me, I’m like, ‘Oh, I can understand why he felt that way.’”
Charlamagne speaks on Joe Budden:
“When we are mad at each other we go bad on each other. When I hear why he’s upset w/ me— I can understand it.”

Charlamagne added that their most recent disagreement stemmed from a misunderstanding. “I didn’t mean it in the way that he received it, but I can understand why he felt that way,” he said, joking that both men are simply “mad men.”
While he believes his bond with Budden will eventually reset, Charlamagne’s relationship with Ebro Darden appears more strained. Following Ebro’s exit from Hot 97, he criticized Charlamagne for what he described as compromising personal beliefs for lucrative media deals.
Ebro takes a SHOT at Charlamagne:
“There were things that CTG was willing to do that I would’ve NEVER done.. it’s the same way W/ Stephen A Smith. When companies want to give you that amount of money, you have to do a dance and I’m not willing to”

“There were things that Charlamagne was willing to do that I would’ve never done,” Ebro said. “That’s how you get to those big bags.”
Fans are waiting on Charlamagne’s response to Ebro’s claims.
Charlemagne defended Joe Budden on the Native Land pod, saying they might be misusing academics for intellectuals. “By definition Joe is an intellectual, one of the most prolific rappers ever.” Bakari jokingly disagreed.
