Check out OnePlus 13 prototype designs that almost made the cut

As is the case with smartphone designs, there are a number of them before the final form gets chosen. Well, the founder of OnePlus has decided to share some of the OnePlus 13 prototype designs with all of us.

Pete Lau shared these designs via social media, showing us three designs that almost made the cut. You’ll get to see all three of them in the gallery below.

Needless to say, all three of these designs do resemble the final product quite a bit. The main differences can be seen around the camera oreo on the back, and they’re minor, really. All three of these designs have some additional flair on the left side of the camera oreo, similar to what the OnePlus 13 offers.

In the final model, which was already launched in China, OnePlus ditched those additional details on the left and opted for a more cleaner design with just a camera oreo on the back. The camera layout is the same across models.

These designs are not much different than the final product

These design prototypes are always interesting to see, as we can see what could have been. They’re usually more different than the final product, but OnePlus apparently knew what it wanted and the details made the difference.

The OnePlus 13 did launch in China, as I mentioned earlier, but it still did not arrive to global markets. That will happen next month, that much the company confirmed. The OnePlus 13 will see its global launch in January.

Considering that the phone has already launched in China, we know what to expect. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is included in the package, as is LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.

Three 50-megapixel cameras sit on the back of this phone, and they’re backed by Hasselblad. OnePlus opted for a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery here, while the phone also supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, and includes a charger in the box. The OnePlus 13R will likely launch alongside the OnePlus 13, globally.
