WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE China Development Bank (CDB) has approved a loan of €245 million ($254.76 million) to support the construction of the Kano-Kaduna railway project in Nigeria, which spans 203 kilometers. This standard-gauge railway will facilitate direct rail connectivity between Kano and Abuja upon completion. The CDB announced today that this financial backing aims to ensure the project’s smooth progression. The railway is expected to stimulate the development of related industries along its route and generate numerous job opportunities in Nigeria. The Kano-Kaduna railway project is recognized as a key cooperation initiative for the upcoming Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The construction is being carried out by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), with funding from the CDB. Looking ahead, the CDB plans to collaborate closely with Nigerian authorities to manage ongoing loan disbursements and oversee the project’s completion effectively.
