Chris Brown is no longer facing a civil lawsuit connected to an alleged violent nightclub altercation in London.

Billboard reports that Amadou “Abe” Diaw has dropped his civil lawsuit against Breezy. Court documents filed show that Diaw requested the case be dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought back to court. A settlement between the two parties has not been publicly disclosed.

The lawsuit stemmed from an incident in February 2023, where Brown was accused of smashing Diaw with a tequila bottle and then stomping on him at a London venue. The alleged assault left Diaw hospitalized and later led to a $16 million lawsuit.

Diaw’s legal complaint stated that Brown “inflicted severe and lasting injuries” during the encounter, including “lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg”. He also claimed to suffer “serious and permanent emotional distress and trauma” as a result, and also claims that he has suffered permanent trauma from the alleged attack.

Brown continues to face criminal charges related to the incident.

He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent. In May, Brown was arrested at a hotel in Manchester and formally charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.
