Christantus Uche joined Crystal Palace from Getafe in the summer, but things have not panned out well…
Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche has sparked talks that he could leave Crystal Palace in the coming months, Soccernet.ng reports.
After an impressive year at Getafe, Uche completed a season-long loan to Crystal Palace last summer. But there was also a buy-option included in the deal.
Based on what he had shown at Getafe, he was expected to be a hit at Crystal Palace. Moreover, Eberechi Eze already left, thereby creating a void in the final third.
However, things have not panned out the way he would have hoped. Uche has not started a game for the Eagles since making his transfer.
In fact, he has gotten just 67 minutes for the first team since September. He had to even play for the reserves last month, just to stack up his minutes.
Now, it seems like the 22-year-old midfielder is unhappy at the club.
What Did Christantus Uche Do?
Christantus Uche liked a post from on Instagram that insinuated that he could leave Crystal Palace and return to Getafe on Monday.
It would be very easy to read meaning to Uche’s move, as a like on social media often means an endorsement. If it is an endorsement, it won’t be surprising, as the Super Eagles star will likely be frustrated with his lack of minutes.
On the other hand, Uche’s action might not have a deep meaning, as it might have just been random.
Right now, it appears that coach Oliver Glasner is not convinced with Uche’s abilities. But football is really dynamic, and one or two injuries could trigger a change that will favour him.
