Samuel Chukwueze featured in the latest Milan derby as AC Milan and Inter Milan played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday night, Footynaija.com reports.

The clash saw both sides battling for an advantage ahead of the second leg, with AC Milan taking the lead early in the second half.

Tammy Abraham opened the scoring in the 47th minute after latching onto a pass from Youssouf Fofana, finishing with precision to put the Rossoneri ahead.

Inter Milan responded strongly and found their equaliser in the 67th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu converted a pass from Joaquin Correa, levelling the match with a composed finish.

Both sides had opportunities to find a winner, but defences remained solid, forcing a draw ahead of the return leg.

Samuel Chukwueze was introduced in the 87th minute, replacing Rafael Leão in a tight contest at the San Siro.

His introduction in the final minutes came as AC Milan looked for fresh legs in attack. But with limited time to influence the game, the Nigerian winger saw little of the ball as the match ended in a stalemate.

The Super Eagles winger has played a total of 1,198 minutes in 31 appearances for the Italian side this season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in all competitions.

The result leaves the tie finely balanced, with the second leg set to decide which of the two Milan giants will advance to the Coppa Italia final.

Chukwueze will be hoping for more minutes in the return fixture as he continues his push for a bigger role in Stefano Pioli’s squad.
