Claressa Shields isn’t afraid to set the record straight, and after a clip began circulating online that appeared to show the boxing champion hinting at an engagement, Shields cleared the air and let fans know the footage had nothing to do with her current partner, rapper Papoose.
A video of Shields flashing a diamond ring and talking about her future quickly sent social media into speculation mode.

Many believed Papoose had proposed, but Shields stepped in to shut down the rumors and called out the “goofies” spreading the misinformation. She explained that the clip was several years old and from her previous relationship.
In the resurfaced footage, Shields proudly holds up her ring and says, “You see this big ring on my finger. Bling! Bling! Bling! Engaged.”
Although the moment looked new to many viewers, Shields confirmed the truth on X, writing, “Not engaged again “Yet”, that video is old. Now stop posting it.”

While Shields and Papoose remain solid, she made it clear that the old video should not be taken as proof of any current wedding plans. She has previously stated that she plans to marry the rapper and even take time out from her career next year to have a baby.
