Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal on Tuesday displayed his arrogance during an interview on national television.
During the live show, a clip of which has gone viral on social media, shows the former SGF telling TVC News anchor, Nifemi Oguntoye, ‘Give me a break, my friend. Shut up! What’s your problem?’
Lawal, who does not see any good in the administration of Bola Tinubu, was infuriated when Oguntoye compared the electoral process of 2019, under Muhammadu Buhari to that of 2023 that produced Tinubu.
The anchor had said, “I didn’t see much difference. Mr. Lawal, It’s the same electoral process in 2019 and 2023. I mean, it’s the same administration you served under, so I didn’t see quite the difference between what happened then and now…”
Babashir jumped in, saying, “Give me a break my friend! Shut up! Shut up! Get out! Give me a break!
“How can you say the Buhari government’s electoral process is the same as Bola Tinubu’s? What’s your problem? Give me a break…The Tinubu government didn’t win the election…”
In response, the journalist said, “I’ll take ‘get out’ because I’ve invited you to my house but I’m just trying to have an intellectual conversation with you Mr. Lawal…”
Lawal, who was appointed as the SGF on 27 August 2015, by Buhari, got suspended from office on 19 April 2017, and was officially sacked on 30 October 2017.
He recently dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, and joined the new Coalition political party, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, whose major aim is to remove President Tinubu from office in 2027 through the ballots.
