Coi was previously signed to Universal Music Group but has been begging the label to let her go for months. After eventually being freed from her contract, Coi is looking forward to a fresh new start at her label home. “Epic is one of those labels who understands me as an artist and as a person, and I’m super appreciative of that,” she said. “They support me rather than try to tell me what to do, and that’s all an artist can ask for when it comes to signing with a major label.” The rapper also announced the release of her upcoming EP, What Happened to Forever. She teased one of the tracks last week, where she spoke about her breakup with Trippie Redd, who is the father of the child she is carrying. “Ex is supposed to be a ex for a reason/Wanted to be there while you was fighting demons/I had family plans – you had plans for cheating/Camera in the room, you ain’t know I was creeping,” she says on the track. Trippie responded by laughing and blowing raspberries in a video posted to his social media.
