Andy Dick is trying to set the record straight after photos of him appearing dazed on a Hollywood sidewalk sparked concern this week.
The 59-year-old actor and comedian spoke with TMZ on Dec. 10, appearing in the video between two friends who stayed close as he addressed what happened.
ICYMI: Andy Dick nearly died on a Los Angeles sidewalk after an apparent overdose — and if it wasn’t for strangers stepping in, this could’ve ended differently.
Here’s the real question:
Is this a personal downfall, a failed system, or a city that gave up on people like him?… pic.twitter.com/w8Lc39K4Wa— Tony Lane (@TonyLaneNV) December 11, 2025
Dick insisted he felt “totally fine” during the incident and said the situation began when he noticed a man around his age sitting on the ground the day before.
According to Dick, he stopped to keep the man company and was surprised when the stranger produced crack cocaine. Dick said he watched out of curiosity and admitted he occasionally uses the drug.

One of Dick’s friends told TMZ he had been livestreaming the moment and briefly stepped away to look for Narcan, the medication often used to counter opioid overdoses in emergencies.
Dick’s representative, Trevor Simms, told USA TODAY that the comedian is doing well and encouraged viewers to check out his new movie, “T Bird,” now available on major streaming platforms.
