THE West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that starting on October 25, 2024, it will introduce the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private candidates.

According to a statement released by WAEC today, the examination will run until December 20, 2024.

“The examination will be conducted in a hybrid format, meaning that objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen, and candidates will submit their responses electronically. Essay and practical questions will also appear on-screen, but candidates will respond using the provided answer booklets,” explained WAEC spokesperson, Adesina Fadekemi.

However, candidates who prefer to take the entire examination using the traditional Paper and Pen mode will have that option available.

WAEC also notified potential candidates that the registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Additionally, the ‘Walk-in-Candidate’ option, which allows candidates to register up to 24 hours before their chosen exam paper, will be available after the registration period ends, WAEC stated.
