Eric Chelle has named his Super Eagles Lineup for the game against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, and he has made some interesting selections…

Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen and Fulham star Alex Iwobi are among the big names in Eric Chelle’s starting eleven for their AFCON 2025 opening fixture against Tanzania, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria need to secure all three points against Miguel Gamounda’s Tanzania at the Complexe Sportif de Fès to issue a statement of intent to other African nations in Morocco.

While the Super Eagles need to be prolific in front of goal, they also must keep things tight at the back, as games of this nature are keenly contested with grit and vigour while remaining largely unpredictable, despite the gap in quality between both sides.

Who Are The Super Eagles Stars That Will Start Against Tanzania?

The back four from the clash against DR Congo is slightly tweaked. Benjamin Frederick is out after a knee injury, and Semi Ajayi partners Calvin Bassey in the heart of the defence, while Zaidu Sanusi and Bright Osayi-Samuel take up the left and right back spots, respectively.

Chippa United star Stanley Nwabali maintains his place in between the sticks for Nigeria despite initial injury concerns.

In the middle of the park, it is Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi starting together again in a midfield pivot.

Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze will look to spread the width of the pitch and stretch the Tanzanian defence.

Like the front two against Benin and Gabon, Akor Adams partners with Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen in attack. The pair have become something of a regular occurrence up front for Eric Chelle lately.
