In a related development; a federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed 23rd of January, 2026 to deliver judgment in a suit instituted by the African Democratic Congress, ADC against the President of the federation, Attorney generals of federation and Rivers State and Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
The presiding Judge, Justice MUHAMMAD TURAKI fixed the date after parties argued on motion for preliminary objection and adopted their final written addresses.
The ADC in Rivers State is challenging the legality of President BOLA TINUBU to amend the State electoral and tribunal laws leading to the conduct of local government elections in that held on August, 30th, 2025.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen outside the courtroom, counsel to ADC, COLLINS DIKE explained in details why his client approached the court and proceeding at the court leading to the adjournment for judgment.
