JUSTICE James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled November 20, 2025, as the date for judgment in the terrorism case involving the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The decision was announced today after Kanu failed to present his defence within the six days allotted by the court.
Justice Omotosho ruled that the defendant could not claim a denial of fair hearing since he did not utilize the opportunity provided to conduct his defence.
The court’s ruling marks another key development in Kanu’s long-running legal battle with the Nigerian government, which accuses him of terrorism-related offences linked to his activities as leader of IPOB.
Earlier, during the defence stage of the trial, Kanu had listed several public figures — including Nyesom Wike, Dave Umahi, and Tukur Buratai — as potential witnesses.
The case is expected to reach a decisive point when judgment is delivered later this month.
