Crisis brews in Edo APC as members protest over lopsided appointments

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State have raised concerns over alleged lopsided political appointments within the party.

The aggrieved members, under the aegis of “Concerned APC Stakeholders,” in a letter to the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, accused the Secretary to the State Campaign Council, Patrick Okah, of sidelining other wards in favour of his own — Ward 7.

They alleged that virtually all positions allocated to Oredo LGA have been cornered by appointees from Ward 7, warning that such an imbalance could trigger a crisis if not urgently addressed.

“The growing dominance of one ward over others is causing discontent and weakening party unity. We urge you to intervene before this festers into a full-blown crisis,” the letter read in part.

They called on Senator Okpebholo to ensure fairness and inclusiveness in future political arrangements to prevent further alienation of loyal party members.
