CSCS Lifts Unlisted Securities Exchange 0.63% Higher

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc buoyed the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.63 per cent on Monday, October 20.

The price of the securities depository company expanded by N2.99 to close at N44.95 per share compared with the previous trading session’s N41.96 per share.

This increased the market capitalisation of the bourse by N13.60 billion to close at N2.179 trillion compared with the preceding session’s N2.166 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) increased by 22.63 points to 3,643.22 points from last Friday’s 3,620.59 points.

Business Post reports that yesterday, the share price of UBN Property Plc weakened by 24 Kobo to close at N2.15 per unit compared with the preceding trading day’s price of N2.39 per unit.

A look at the trading data showed that the volume of securities slumped by 88.3 per cent to 1.2 million units from the previous 10.3 million units just as the value of securities went down by 60.7 per cent to N20.4 million from N51.8 million, and the number of deals slid by 8.7 per cent to 21 deals from 23 deals.

At the close of business, Okitipupa Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 165.2 million units worth N7.1 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 45.8 million units sold for N2.0 billion.

Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc ended the day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units traded for N419.2 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units worth N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units transacted for N4.2 billion.
