WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced plans to auction 15,325 liters of seized petrol at ₦400 per liter to help alleviate transportation challenges during the festive season. During a press briefing at the Customs Training College in Ikeja yesterday, December 21, 2024, the National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, ACG Hussein Ejibunu, revealed that operatives had recently confiscated 613 jerrycans of petrol in the Lagos-Ogun region, valued at ₦27,565,000 in Duty Paid Value. Ejibunu noted that Operation Whirlwind, which began on May 27, 2024, has yielded significant results, with directives from the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) to sustain efforts until economic sabotage is eradicated. He also confirmed that all legal processes, including a court condemnation order, have been completed, allowing the seized petrol to be auctioned. According to Ejibunu, the CGC has approved the sale of the product to the public at ₦10,000 per 25 liters, ensuring a steady supply to ease transportation difficulties during the holidays.
