Former Da Band member Babs Bunny is trending online after she shared what she repeatedly called an “alleged” personal account involving a late friend and gospel singer Donnie McClurkin.
Speaking with Oliver Twixt, Babs stated, “It’s 2026 and I’m tired of not talking,” she said. “Everybody else is talking. I want to be in the conversation too.”
Babs claimed she knew “a little bit of something about Auntie Donnie,” adding, “I hate to say allegedly because I know this for a fact, ’cause I was there.”
She alleged the relationship began when her friend was underage. “He wasn’t legal,” she said. “Under the age of consent legally. On paper. In the law.” She added that the relationship continued for years, saying, “They were together for maybe like three years. My friend really liked him.”
A civil lawsuit was filed against McClurkin this month by a male accuser, alleging that McClurkin engaged in sexual misconduct and abuse, with some of the alleged incidents said to have occurred in religious settings tied to faith-based counseling and so-called conversion efforts.
The plaintiff claims the interactions caused lasting emotional and psychological harm, accusations McClurkin has strongly denied.
Babs also addressed church hypocrisy. “They on a piano and they sweeter than bare meat,” she said, laughing. “That’s why they could never judge me. I bang my rainbow.” Still, she insisted she was not trying to out anyone. “I’m totally against outing people,” she said, referencing her own experiences being questioned publicly.
She went on to say. “I really hope these allegations are not true,” she said. “I hope he can live his life and not be scared.” Oliver Twixt reminded viewers the claims were unverified.
