DaBaby found himself dragged into a messy radio moment he says never should have happened.
On Monday, the rapper abruptly shut down gossip after Hot 97 personality Funk Flex claimed on air that DaBaby had been romantically involved with Kimora Lee Simmons. The allegation spread quickly online.

Taking to Instagram Stories, DaBaby addressed the rumor head on.
“I just seen my face and my name attached to some s–t,” he said. “Out of respect for the woman, I felt the need to come clear that s–t up. That shit is 1,000% false.” He added that he was confused and disappointed by Flex’s comments, questioning why his name was mentioned at all and saying he expected the veteran DJ to correct the record.
Flex later did just that during his evening show. Apologizing directly to DaBaby, Flex said he misspoke and meant to reference Birdman instead.
“I apologize, my brother,” Flex said on air, explaining that he mixed up names while telling the story. He repeated the clarification multiple times, making it clear that DaBaby was not involved.

The controversy began earlier that morning when Flex went on a heated rant about Kimora Lee Simmons, making salacious remarks while referencing her past marriage to Russell Simmons. His comments followed recent accusations from Russell Simmons, who claimed he financially supported Kimora for years and alleged she blocked his relationship with their daughters Ming and Aoki.
