Daboss Polytechnic, Idominasi, has emerged winner of the inter-school debate competition organized by the Department of News and Current Affairs, Hope 91.3FM, Ilesa.
The competition featured representatives from four institutions, including Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Interlink Polytechnic, Ijebu-Jesa, and Daboss Polytechnic, Idominasi.

In the first round, Daboss Polytechnic led with three points, while UNIOSUN and OAU followed with one point each. Interlink Polytechnic recorded no points in the opening stage.
At the end of the second round, Daboss Polytechnic maintained the lead with 14 points. Interlink Polytechnic scored nine points, UNIOSUN eight, and OAU seven points.
The judges, Ezekiel Okedele, Adebisi Salisu, and Olaide Oladele, described the competition as free and fair.
Announcing the results, the returning officer, Joseph Oyelami, declared Kolawole Meriam from Daboss Polytechnic as the overall winner with 17 points. Jimoh Kabirat from UNIOSUN came second with 14 points, Abimbola Mabel from Interlink Polytechnic placed third with nine points, while Ayeni Omolola from OAU finished fourth with eight points.
The organizers announced that the second edition of the Hope 91.3FM Inter-School Debate for internship students will hold next week, aimed at improving students’ communication skills and encouraging intellectual engagement.
