Following the strong reception for We Bury the Dead, Daisy Ridley is already eying her next big role.

Deadline reports that the British star has landed her next project, Killa Bee, which will focus on the true story of Bryony Tyrell, who lives a complicated life as both an ICU nurse in the midst of “navigating the challenges of the NHS,” but during the night, she enters the world of “one of Britain’s leading cage fighting prospects.”

Originally from Southampton, she went from learning kickboxing during her university days to getting to the black belt stage, while also entering martial arts. During her career, Tyrell won multiple belts as she entered the professional ranks.

The MMA fighter film also explores Tyrell, with a master’s degree in nursing and a degree in molecular biology, juggling life as a mother of two children. Ridley shared the following statement about bringing the nurse’s story to life through Killa Bee:

Daisy Ridley: Bryony’s story is one of extraordinary courage and resilience. I was deeply moved by her emotional and empowering journey. I can’t wait to bring her spirit to the screen”.

Knockout Productions is producing Killa Bee, along with Picture Perfect. Ruth Sewell, who has written the short films Kill and Fish Love, penned the screenplay for Killa Bee, which is set to be directed by Farah’s Kenton Oxley. Executive producer Michael Foster, along with producers Mark Vennis and Lucinda Thakrar shared this statement about adapting Tyrell’s life on film:

Bryony Tyrell has been involved in the project with Kenton Oxley since the beginning and is supportive of her inspirational story being brought to the screen. She is actively consulting on the project. The scripting process has been shaped in close dialogue with Bryony’s family, ensuring emotional truth and creative integrity at every turn. Director Kenton, a longtime friend of Bryony’s since their school days, brings a deeply personal lens to the story—one rooted in trust, history, and fierce creative loyalty.

According to the trade, Capture is set to begin world sales for Killa Bee prior to the American Film Market, which is happening next week. Principal photography is slated to launch on the Ridley-starring movie in Q2 of 2026.

Outside of her latest project, the 33-year-old actress is also eying her return to the Star Wars universe, as a New Jedi Order movie with Rey is in the works at Lucasfilm and Disney. Killa Bee currently does not have a set release date.
