Dame Dash is speaking about his epic fallout with Jay-Z…the Roc-A-Fella cofounder says he moved away from Jay after the New York rapper became close to R. Kelly.
“Everybody knew R. Kelly married Aaliyah at 15. Everybody knew that. So was the conversation had like, ‘Yo, how you gonna go and do something with this dude?’ Hell yeah, that conversation was had,” said Dash.
“[Jay-Z] was like, ‘Yo, I ain’t have nothing to do with that.’ What I would love is for someone to ask him, ‘Why would you still do a project with that man knowing that he r*ped Aaliyah?’”
Dame Dash says that before he became romantically involved with Aaliyah, Jay-Z was in love with her but adds that the final “nail in the coffin” was his close friendship with Kelly, is who currently serving prison time for his sex crimes.
“I was outta there, I was gone. I knew that sh*t was gonna blow up. I wanted no parts of that sh*t. So I was done with him for that,” he added.
