“Dan Orbih Is Nothing More Than A Political Employee Of The APC Government” — Edo PDP Declares

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has formally clarified that Dan Orbih is no longer part of the party, emphasizing that he no longer holds the authority to manage any of its affairs, including donating or assigning property.

Naijaonpoint reports that the party refuted Orbih’s claims regarding the donation of a new secretariat, stating that the so-called facility was a mere facade, and belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party Orbih now openly supports.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the party made it clear that Orbih’s tenure with the PDP ended on March 9, 2025. A new Caretaker Committee, led by Chief Emma Ogidi, has since taken control of the party’s operations in the South-South zone.

The statement also condemned Orbih’s recent actions as part of a larger plot to destabilize the PDP in the state.

“We are compelled to respond to the Nollywood-style theatrics orchestrated yesterday by Chief Dan Orbih, only because of the numerous calls and inquiries we have received from concerned party members, the media, and the good people of Edo State,” the statement read.

The party further emphasized that Orbih’s association with the PDP was officially severed, and that any properties or assets he claims to have donated or allocated to the party should be disregarded as invalid.

“Let it be made abundantly clear: Chief Dan Orbih is no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He lacks the authority and standing to rent, donate, or assign any property to the Edo PDP. The so-called secretariat he claims to have donated is a facade—it belongs to the party he now openly serves, the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Edo State, where he is nothing more than a political employee,” the statement added.

The Edo PDP Caretaker Committee urged the people of the state to ignore Orbih’s actions and instead focus on the legitimate, progressive work being carried out by the official party leadership.

The statement reaffirmed that the Caretaker Committee remains united and fully in charge of the PDP’s affairs in Edo.

“Chief Orbih’s latest drama is a desperate attempt to distract, disrupt, and destabilize the Edo PDP. His record of notoriety is well documented, and as such, we refuse to dignify his antics with undue attention,” the party concluded, calling for continued focus on their efforts to advance the state’s development.
