Dancehall artist Chronic Law has been taken into custody by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The performer, born Ackeme Jermane Campbell, was detained on Monday, Jan. 12, and remained in custody as of late Wednesday. ICE, a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for enforcing immigration laws and conducting criminal investigations tied to public safety and national security.
At this time, the specific reason for Campbell’s detention has not been made public.

Chronic Law was recently named YouTube Jamaica’s most-streamed artist of 2025 with more than 150 million views. Sources say that there are no gun charges connected to his arrest, despite online rumors.
Public records show that Campbell was arrested in Florida in November 2025 on several traffic-related offenses, including attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and speeding.
Recently, an associate of the artist, Radijah Risk, was arrested in Florida earlier this month. Radijah Risk, whose real name is Henry Ryan Armstrong, faces charges including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of cocaine.
