The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has stated that dancing does not in any way interfere with his duties as governor.
Naijaonpoint reports that Adeleke, popularly known as ‘Dancing Governor’, is well known for his energetic dancing moves, which have attracted criticism from political opponents who question his seriousness in office.
However, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Adeleke, who is seeking re-election in 2026 on the platform of the Accord Party, insists that his dancing does not affect his work.
Adeleke vowed to continue dancing, saying, “I will keep dancing because I love to dance, I love to praise my God, and that doesn’t change anything. So, I will still dance, praise my God, and do my work.”
Meanwhile, Adeleke has revealed that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party was motivated by the deepening internal crisis in the PDP and the urgent need to safeguard his political future and maintain stability in Osun State.
Adeleke said that while he remained emotionally attached to the PDP, he had to make a tough decision due to the uncertainty surrounding the party’s leadership and legal tussles.
He said, “I did all the best I could do, but I love my state, Osun State. Assuming you don’t need a platform to secure any nomination for you to be a candidate, it would have been a different case, but you need a platform and time is running out.”
Adeleke added, “I don’t know what would happen in the future because of all the court cases.”
