The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, across Nigeria. The new pricing template sets the cost of petrol between N875 and N905 per litre, depending on the region.

According to the breakdown, petrol will now sell at:

  • N875 per litre in Lagos
  • N885 in the South-West
  • N895 in the North-Central and North-West
  • N905 in the North-East and South-South

This development marks a N15 reduction per litre across all regions and applies to retail partners including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy, among others.

Previously, Lagos residents paid N890 per litre, while petrol in the North-East and South-South sold for as high as N920. The refinery said the quality of its petrol and diesel products remains high, enhancing engine performance and meeting environmental standards.

The latest price cut follows the refinery’s recent naira-for-crude oil deal, which the company said has helped lower production costs and support price stability.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to easing the financial pressure on Nigerians amid fluctuating energy costs.

“The decision to maintain price stability reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and alleviating the burden on consumers from increasing fuel prices,” the statement reads.

This is the third price reduction in recent weeks. Last week, the refinery reduced its gantry price from N835 to N825 per litre, having earlier brought it down from N880—marking a total N55 drop within a short period.
