IN a shocking revelation to his fans on social media, renowned Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke better known as Davido has hinted that his upcoming album might mark his exit from the music scene.
Taking to social media, Davido expressed his frustration, suggesting that certain individuals are eager to see him leave the music industry. “Yall niggas really want me out the game that bad ?? Oya after next album I no do again . So una fit get peace,” he stated in a recent post.
This announcement comes in the wake of Davido’s lamentation about the lack of tranquility within the music sphere. In a previous post, he expressed his desire to seek solace elsewhere, writing in pidgin English, “Since I came in the game dem never get peace, I love it! Make I find somewhere with beach go relax.”
The acclaimed artist has been embroiled in recent controversies, notably engaging in a verbal altercation with fellow musician Wizkid.
The exchange escalated when Davido responded to a video shared by Wizkid, labeling his rival’s career as “dead.”
Notably, Davido had previously voiced concerns about potential alliances against him within the industry, particularly cautioning against collaborations between Burna Boy and Wizkid. “Nobody will gang up against me such that it would work. It hurts me sometimes. I’ve tried with Burna but how long will I keep doing that? It’s either you don’t like me or… I‘m saying this now,” he stated in a past interview.
Davido’s musical journey began in 2011 with the release of his debut single ‘Back When,’ followed by his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ in 2012. He swiftly rose to fame with hits like ‘Dami Duro’ and clinched the ‘next rated’ award at The Headies in 2012.
