Davido stirs the internet as he vows to quit music after his next album

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido has stirred the internet after he vowed to quit music.

The singer, while reacting to a viral photoshopped picture of him on the internet, noted how many want him out of the game so badly. Succumbing to them, he promised to quit the industry after his next album so they could have peace.

In another tweet, he prayed that God punish the blog spreading the viral photo.

“Yall niggas really want me out the game that bad ?? Oya, after next album I no do again . So una fit get peace”.

“Nah, God, go punish THE SHADE BOROUGH”.

His statement divided many, with some begging for him to stay while others called him out for his victim mentality.

Similarly, his rival, Wizkid, last year blasted his millions of fans, pressuring him to make new music.

In a series of posts on his Instagram, Wizkid revealed that he was on holiday and would return in 4 years, as he wanted to enjoy the fruit of his labour.

He added that he could extend the vacation to 5 years or venture into a new career like playing ball, golf, or wrestling.

In a tweet, Davido made a revelation about his musical journey, expressing that since he came into the game, nobody has had peace. He went on to reveal that he loved that effect.

In a recent interview, Davido joined his colleagues, Burna Boy and Wizkid, to distance himself from Afrobeat, as he lamented the stereotyping of African artists in the Afrobeats genre regardless of their musical style.

He described his genre of music as Afro-fusion as he noted how Afrobeat is a sound originally pioneered by Fela Kuti, but now all African songs are termed Afrobeats.
