Deeper Life refutes report Pastor Kumuyi denied Christian genocide in Nigeria

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has refuted a viral report which claimed that its General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, had denied the existence of Christian genocide in the country while accusing the United States of attempting to steal Nigeria’s natural resources.

An online platform called Ibom Focus had on Sunday, claimed that Kumuyi, during a press conference in Lagos, denied that Christians were being killed in Nigeria. The controversial report stirred outrage across social media platforms which led to a barrage of attacks and insults on the man of God.

While reacting to the viral report, the Church, in an official statement posted on Kumuyi’s X account on Monday, described the publication as entirely false and malicious.

In the clarification statement, the Church said:

“The Deeper Christian Life Ministry #dclmhq condemns in the strongest terms the malicious and entirely false news report circulated by a faceless platform which goes by the name of ‘Ibom Focus.’

“The story with the headline: ‘America is Trying to Steal our Natural Resources; There is No Christian Genocide in Nigeria, says Pastor Kumuyi,’ is a total fabrication and the figment of the imagination of its authors.”

The statement noted that Pastor Kumuti had been out of the country for weeks and could not have addressed a press conference in Lagos as claimed by the publication.
